The Tree of Life Hand Block Cambric is a beautiful, printed organic fabric, featuring a powder blue print on a cloudy white base. The design is an ethnic print originating in India. It is created using a “hand-block” technique, giving the fabric a truly rich and authentic feel. The dyes that have been used are completely ironable and colourfast (although we always recommend washing your fabrics before you make).
Looking for some haute couture inspiration? Here are some stunning examples of how this beautiful blue and white block print has been flooding high fashion:
And we’ve seen it all over the interiors scene too:
The printed organic fabric is lightweight and completely opaque, with a crisp texture, good drape and a full body. It’s ideal for both clothing and interior furnishings. It will soften a little in the wash, and creases iron out easily. Due to the hand-woven style of the printed organic fabric, it may contain some small weaving irregularities, but this adds to its rustic appearance and doesn’t affect the look or quality. The dyes used are azo-free, and the cotton is organic and totally biodegradable. In addition, the weaving and printing is done in a cooperative and is certified Fair Trade by WFTO.
If you’re looking for something a little more lightweight, this print is also available in a muslin.
