Last week I went to Paris and I saw a girl wearing a beautiful Mustard Yellow Silk Taffeta top that I can’t get out of my mind. She looked so chic wearing a pair of skinny, ankle-cropped blue jeans, red heels against the gorgeous yellow colour that I decided to make our Mustard Yellow Silk Taffeta our Fabric of the week. For sewing beginners, why not try making a top too? If you are über daring, you could try your hand at a breathtaking red carpet dress like one of these:
Or something simpler like this Orla Kiely dress for Free People:
Eco Credentials: Animal Cruelty Free, Azo-Free, By-Product, Co-Op, Fair Wage, Low Energy, Low Impact Dyes, Low Water, Unbleached
Ideal for: Bags, Belts, Blinds, Blouses, Gowns, Hand Sewing, Handkerchiefs, Scarves & Neckwear, Machine Sewing, Shirts, Summer Skirts & Dresses, Toys, Underwear & Lingerie
Silk Taffeta is also excellent to make curtains (it will make your whole room glow!)
Or for a less daring but equally as stunning effect, you can cut out the fabric into shapes and sew them on to cushions or pillows, like these appliqué ideas:
Whatever you make with this fabric, it will be wonderful! Have fun!
